Outside the Dice is an informational podcast that offers tips, thoughts and ideas to bring story immersion to the forefront of your D&D gaming sessions. I believe that injecting cinematic elements into a D&D campaign allows for a heightened experience that brings lasting, memorable, impactful and (most importantly) enjoyable moments to the table. When a group of friends play Monopoly, nobody accounts for the backstory of the thimble or role plays as the wheelbarrow. D&D is unique in that it allows for deeper connections between the story’s characters than what a tabletop game and numbers on a piece of paper would normally allow.

 

     Outside the Dice tackles different categories every episode like combat mechanics, world details and character dynamics and finds ways to incorporate a sense of realism and believability to those aspects. It also serves as an outlet for me to make jokes without hearing my audience groan afterward. Most applicable to DM’s looking to enhance their homebrew sessions, Outside the Dice still has something to offer anyone looking for a deeper immersed experience with their tabletop roleplaying game.
